Malta: employer cost
Enter what a job may cost over a year. The calculator takes off the contributions the employer pays on top of salary and shows gross and net pay. A budget of €40,000.00 a year buys €37,004.28 gross and €28,244.85 net (single, no children, born from 1962).

How it works
Total cost is gross salary plus the contributions the employer pays on top. For a budget, the calculator finds the gross pay at which salary and employer contributions use up exactly that amount, and works out the net pay from there. Here the employer pays the same Class 1 Social Security contribution as the employee (10% of the basic weekly wage, between the weekly minimum and maximum) and 0.3% to the Maternity Leave Trust Fund. Salary means basic salary; statutory bonuses are not included.
