How we calculate Serbian net pay

The calculator applies the consolidated texts of the Personal Income Tax Act and the Act on Contributions for Mandatory Social Insurance from the official Legal Information System, and the lowest and highest bases published by the Minister of Finance in the Official Gazette — see data sources.

Contributions

The employee pays 14% for pension and disability insurance, 5.15% for health insurance and 0.75% for unemployment insurance, 19.9% in all. The employer pays 10% and 5.15% on the same base. The base is gross pay, but no less than the lowest monthly base (RSD 51,297 in 2026, RSD 45,950 in 2025) and no more than the highest (RSD 732,820 in 2026, RSD 656,425 in 2025). Both amounts apply from 1 January, the first day of the month after publication.

Salary tax

Tax is 10% of gross pay less the tax-free amount: RSD 28,423 a month in 2025 and RSD 34,221 in 2026. The amount applies to full-time work; part-time work gets a pro-rata reduction. Under the 2026 amendments the tax-free amount will be 37,369 dinars from 1 January 2027.

Gross 2

Gross 2 is the employer's total cost: gross pay plus the employer's 15.15% contributions. The calculator does not include reliefs for new hires or for employing young people.
