How we calculate Kosovo net pay

The calculator applies Personal Income Tax Act 05/L-028, with the bands as amended by Act 08/L-142, and Administrative Instruction 01/2016 on pension contributions, as published by the Tax Administration of Kosovo — see data sources.

Pension contribution

The employer withholds 5% of gross pay as the pension contribution and adds 5% of its own; both go to the Kosovo Pension Savings Fund. There is no ceiling. The employee's contribution is deducted from taxable pay.

Wage tax

Taxable pay is gross pay less the employee's pension contribution. With the primary employer, tax follows the monthly bands of article 6 as amended by Act 08/L-142 from 23 August 2024: 0% up to €250, 8% from €250 to €450 and 10% above €450 (€3,000 and €5,400 a year). An employer that is not the primary employer withholds 10% of all taxable pay (article 38). The same bands apply in 2025 and 2026.

Employer cost

Total cost is gross pay plus the employer's 5% pension contribution.
